About Jay and Candy

I (Jay) grew up in Iowa in a church going, Bible believing home. In college while completing my degree in Economics, the love and grace of God became real to me and I began following Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I soon found my true passion was to see people turn and believe the message of the Good News, walk in freedom and identity in Christ, and be led and empowered by the Holy Spirit to be His witnesses! In 2011, the Lord called me into full-time ministry as an evangelist and an incredible faith journey began! I spent 7 years in Western Michigan teaching and mentoring college students, leading local evangelism, teaching at training events through the Dunamis Fellowship International, and teaching at a house or prayer. After Michigan I lived a few years in Seoul, South Korea as a missionary. Other nations I have ministered in include Japan, Singapore, Haiti, and countries where the gospel is restricted. Over the years, it has been a challenging but joyful faith journey walking with Father God. I often say that He has given me my PhD in “Kingdom Economics.” I am so thankful for the family members, mentors, prayer intercessors, financial supporters, and friends that helped me get to this point.
I (Candy) was born and raised in Northwest Montana in a Christian family. I attended Prairie Bible College in Canada studying Missions and developed a desire to follow the Lord on short term missions assignments in Central America, Europe, Asia and Africa. I also studied with Iris Global Harvest School in Mozambique. I learned the importance of intimacy with Jesus that overflows into loving the Body of Christ and loving the lost. I also learned how vital it is to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to do the ministry of reconciliation He has given us. I continue to have a great value for working cross-culturally to learn from those in the Body of Christ that carry different strengths and perspectives.

Our paths first crossed briefly in 2018 at in international church in Seoul, South Korea. It was an amazing story of God answering both of our desires to get married after years of waiting, and at age 36 in May of 2021, we became one in Christ. Three months later and quite unexpectedly, God redirected us to move to Northwest Washington state north of Seattle and invited us to join what He was doing and plant our family here for a time. Our journey in Washington began with living on a Youth With A Mission (YWAM) base near Monroe. There we received more training, learned to do ministry together as family, and started to make connections in the region and beyond.

We have joyfully committed our lives to partner with Jesus Christ to activate, train, and send out the Body of Christ to be effective witnesses. Wherever God takes us in the world, we will seek to be faithful to love Him and walk out this calling. That first looks like people genuinely believing in and encountering the Triune God of the Bible and being filled with the Holy Spirit. Then from the place of first love for God, they can be equipped to effectively follow the Holy Spirit to advance God’s Kingdom locally and globally. We are humbled to serve the body of Christ and see Christ send people into His harvest fields!
